Windows 10 Anniversary Update et KB4019472, quoi de neuf ?

Microsoft déploie dans le cadre du Patch Tuesday du mois de mai 2017, plusieurs mises à jour cumulatives pour Windows 10. KB4019472 s’adresse aux PC sous Windows 10 Anniversary Update, alias la version 1607.

Son contenu est particulièrement intéressant puis Windows 10 v1607 est aujourd’hui l’itération la plus utilisée par la communauté des PCtistes. Comme le veut la tradition du Patch Tuesday nous sommes devant un update cumulatif comportant uniquement des correctifs. Microsoft ne propose pas de nouveauté mais s’attaque à améliorer son système d’exploitation.

Pour ce faire, un correctif vient résoudre un problème rencontré par certains utilisateurs après l’installation d’une autre mise à jour cumulative, KB3213986. Des soucis d’affichage des options dans  « Paramètres » ont été observés.  A cela s’ajoute la correction d’un autre bug occasionné cette fois par « l’update » de sécurité KB4015550. Il conduit à des erreurs d’applications utilisant “msado15.dll”.

KB4019472 s’accompagne également d’un correctif autour de l’EUDCs (end-user-defined characters) empêchant un périphérique de répondre correctement. Un bug critique, à l’origine d’erreur DPI avec des applications comme le Bloc Note ou Paint, est aussi résolu. Sur cette question Microsoft rencontre pas mal de problèmes. Il n’est pas rare que des programmes Win32 sont flous avec un paramétrage DPI élevé. Des solutions sont possibles mais il faut attendre des mises à jour de la part des développeurs.  Cette compatibilité avec un moniteur à fort DPI est assez lente et du temps semble nécessaire.

A tout ceci s’ajoute des mises à jour de sécurité pour plusieurs modules de Windows, citons Windows COM, Windows SMB Server, Windows Server et des applications en particulier les navigateurs Internet Explorer et Edge.
