Windows 10 et KB4566116, quoi de neuf ?

Microsoft a publié de nouvelles mises à jour cumulatives facultatives pour certaines versions de Windows 10. Il s’agit d’un aperçu d’une partie du continu prévu lors du prochain Patch Tuesday.

Windows 10 v1903 et v1909 sont visés par la mise à jour cumulative KB4566116. Il n’y a rien d’étonnant sachant que les deux OS se partagent les même fichiers système. Son installation permet au premier d’évoluer en version 18362.1049 contre 18363.1049 pour le second. Ces deux numéros de construction sont importants car ils permettent de s’assurer que tout c’est bien déroulé. Vous les trouverez au travers de la commande “winver.exe” à lancer dans Exécuter (WIN+R).

Windows 10 et KB4566116, des corrections de bugs

Le géant du logiciel propose des améliorations et des corrections de bugs. L’accent ne concerne pas la sécurité bien que ce contenu sera proposé lors du Patch Tuesday du mois de septembre. Vous trouverez tous les détails en fin d’article.

Plusieurs correctifs importants sont de la partie. Par exemple KB4566116 corrige un bug pouvant saturer l’espace de stockage disponible sur le PC. Certaines erreurs de disque sont à l’origine de l’enregistrement d’importantes quantités de données capables d’occuper à terme l’intégralité de l’espace de stockage.

En parallèle l’application Paramètres ne devrait plus planter. Microsoft explique qu’un problème apparait lors d’une tentative de configurer les applications par défaut de Windows 10. Paramètres peut se fermer de façon inattendue et éventuellement empêcher toutes les modifications autour des applications par défaut.

A cela s’ajoute la correction d’un problème empêchant certains périphériques d’être déverrouillés si un espace vide est présent avant le nom d’utilisateur lors de la première connexion. En clair dans cette situation tout fonctionne comme prévu mais si vous verrouillez l’appareil et ensuite essayer de revenir sur le bureau, le déverrouillage n’est pas possible.

KB4566116 apporte également des améliorations des performances. Selon le géant les applications doivent se charger un peu plus rapidement. Enfin des améliorations pour Microsoft OneDrive et la politique de groupe sont aussi de la partie.

A noter que cette mise à jour cumulative n’est pas proposée de manière automatique. Il est nécessaire d’intervenir manuellement pour lancer son téléchargement et son installation. Pour ce faire il faut se rendre dans Windows Update. Vous pouvez également la récupèrerer sur le service en ligne Microsoft Update Catalog.
